Hard MTB League Launches Free 2026 Challenge Series
Hard MTB League, the Boise-based mountain bike league behind one of the sport's most demanding four-stage race formats, is bringing its community spirit to trails nationwide with the launch of its 2026 Hard MTB Challenge series — a collection of free group rides open to anyone who loves mountain biking, regardless of skill level.
The series got rolling February 7 at the Church Rocks trailhead in St. George, Utah, with two more stops already on the calendar: San Diego on March 28 and Boise on April 11. More locations, including East Coast and international stops, are expected to be announced soon.
Don't let the word "challenge" fool you — these aren't races. Each event is a guided group ride on local trails, with no entry fees, no registration, and no podiums. The whole idea is to get riders of all abilities out on the trail together, sharing the experience and pushing each other to ride their best.
"Our goal is to create something where any level of rider can come out and experience an environment where they push themselves, and we cheer each other on," said Braydon Bringhurst, founder of Hard MTB League. "This is about rallying together, pushing your limits, and sharing the trails with riders who live for this sport."
There's also a giving element baked into every stop. Instead of charging an entry fee, the league partners with a local charity at each event and simply asks riders to make a donation.
No pre-registration is needed to show up, but all participants will need to sign a waiver on the day of the event. If you'd rather handle that ahead of time, you can request one by emailing mailto:info@hardmtbleague.com.
Hard MTB League was founded in 2023 by professional rider and filmmaker Braydon Bringhurst. The league debuted as a Pro Invitational in 2024 and has built a reputation for celebrating all-around riding ability across climbing, descending, jumping, and technical terrain.
